A WARM WELCOME ...
from Southern Zone Deaf Sports, as the host for the upcoming
49th NZDG in the beautiful ‘Garden City’,
Christchurch in October. Team entries will be confirmed at the DSFNZ AGM on 27 June.
Membership deadline for entry to play at the NZDG is 24 July, 3
months prior to the games starting.

We have decided to set up an “Information Centre” which will be based at the Deaf
Club (Deaf Society of Canterbury) from Thursday mid day to
Saturday evening. There will be timetable information, programme booklets, sports
results, displays and the café will be open for people to purchase food.
The meetings for Technical Delegates, Coaches, Managers and Captains will be held
at the “Information Centre”, Deaf Society of Canterbury.

WHAT IS NEW ZEALAND DEAF GAMES (NZDG)?
The NZDG started back in 1964 and is held annually during Labour Weekend in October.
The NZDG are a pivotal event in the Deaf Community, where participants compete and catch up with friends, old and new.
Sports played at theses national games range from Badminton, Basketball, Darts, Eight Ball Pool, Golf, Indoor Bowls, Indoor Netball,
Lawn Bowls, Netball, Ten Pin Bowling and Touch. The three Zones (Northern, Central and Southern) compete in these sports with the
overall aim to win the Aotearoa Turi Shield, which is announced at the prize-giving.
